Monitoring social inclusion in Europe

The ‘’Europe 2020’’ social inclusion target that was adopted in 2010 and aimed in bringing more than 20 million people out of poverty has, unfortunately, not yet made any progress. It is essential for the European Union, for this policy to succeed, therefore, actions are still being taken and will continue until proper results appear.

However, help and support are needed. And organizations like the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development can put their expertise to work and help with the problem by approaching it from different angles. And one of the most effective ways is not to simply try and battle unemployment by creating new positions in already existing companies. It is to try and create new entrepreneurs and nee workplaces for unemployed people all around Europe.

The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, using its expertise in entrepreneurship was able to create the iGoStartup idea that will be able to assist in creating new entrepreneurs in so many different ways. In particular the past years, due to the greatest wave of refugees and migrants IED has been taking actions towards the support and integration of migrants and refugees into society, vanishing the risk of their social exclusion. Emphasis has been given on intercultural dialogue and the promotion of solidarity, tolerance, and social cohesion. By recognizing entrepreneurship as a crucial factor for the development and cohesion of society, our activities have been focused on the upgrading of their skills (participation in training) and their professional position in society (participation in the labor market.

The iGoStartup idea is actually an online service, which provides consulting services through the use of questionnaires and calculators to prospective entrepreneurs who need guidance on starting their business. By completing a set of tools online, they will get a personalized report which will guide them through the necessary steps of starting their own business, while also enhancing your entrepreneurial mindset. The WP aims to be a tool for diagnosing their needs and a starting point for an educational programme tailored to their specificities.

In order for the idea to be implemented, certain actions need to be taken. In particular, the tool app will work as an online coach for startup ideas, helping to get ideas into action through an organized process. It is designed to be as simple as possible for the user and it provides professional guidance in each step.

  1. Collection of data
  2. Development of questionnaires and measures
  3. Development of the app
  4. Pilot testing

Everyone can help enhance the role of social inclusion and battle unemployment and poverty. The Institute will de its best to achieve this by providing these ideas to be part of big EU frameworks like the Horizon 2020. If you think that this idea can fit your proposal contact the IED today and let us become a part of your consortium and bring our entrepreneurial expertise on the table!
