Promoting Webinar-Based Education in Southeast Europe

Distance learning provides great opportunities for education providers and learners alike. These opportunities exist on every level of education and field. They are equally present in formal and non-formal education. Recently, opportunities in distance learning have expanded through the development of new technologies for online education, which allow classes with direct communication between teacher and students, as well as among students themselves.

Distance learning displays various advantages when it comes different social groups accessing education, especially the underprivileged. Also, it promotes pedagogical innovation and intercultural communication and it is cost-effective. Additionally, webinars offer various benefits for both education providers and learners in formal and non-formal education. They provide wide access to educational services, stimulate the service offer and drastically cut back costs for providers and learners alike.

The project partners will engage in a regional effort to promote the use of educational, cross-sector webinars, as to boost both the supply and the demand for webinar-based e-learning in the region.
