Startups - Actions for promoting the European Startup Ecosystem
The Challenge
Startups is a significant development pillar for the European economy but still, not well supported by legislation and governmental authorities. The rate of early-stage entrepreneurial activity (TEA) in Europe is only 7.8% of the adult population (according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2015/2016).
iED and networking activities
To keep Startup ecosystems connected, in iED, we organize several EU and not only initiatives. Through these initiatives, we want to connect the startups with investors, policymakers and, generally, with the stakeholders of the startup ecosystem in a national and European level. Below you can see all the initiatives which iED is organizing at national or regional level.
iED and scaling up activities
Over the last 14 years, iED has implemented 20 EU projects, which build bridges between the startuppers within European ecosystems. For these projects we worked directly with more than 400 startups, bringing them together with investors, accelerators, incubators, entrepreneurs, corporate networks, universities, and the media. These kinds of activities provide strong foundation for the structured and effective growth of European startups and entrepreneurs. Below you can see some indicative European projects that we are implementing.
