The boss is a special person in the company. This is the person who sets the mood and the strategy of the company, forms the team and define the main values of the organization. The employees may love, hate, respect or disrespect their boss. Their attitude depends on his behavior and management methods used. How to become a respectable boss whose tasks are fulfilled immediately and indisputably. Here are some tips for good managers.

To become a good boss is not an easy thing to do. Sometimes we think that our managers don’t do anything, but is fact it is not like that. The main task of the boss is to set the processes and to maintain them on a decent level, constantly generate the ideas for further development of the company and to have sufficient skills for crisis and stress management. It is only a short list of his main responsibilities. If you are a new-coming boss, you will face even more difficulties as you will have to become a part of the team and to make everybody trust you and do what you say. Become a good psychist. Any manager should have at least the basic knowledge of the people’s behavior and the main rules of human interactions. The boss has to be able to find the right approach to each employee and to understand the things that motivate them. He should be able to detect a brewing up conflict and to solve or mitigate it. Only a deep knowledge of psychology will help the manager to build a good team and create comfortable atmosphere for a productive work.

Face to face meetings. Create a habit of frequent face to face meetings during which you will get to know the news on the life of the company, personal life of the employees, possible problems, feedback on the actions, etc. These meetings should be friendly, so the employees could be frank with you. Ask for the feedback. It will help you to define the methods or actions which don’t work with a given team or which may demotivate it. You should be aware of all the problems, difficulties and challenges which your team faces.

Be structured. When creating a team or starting to work with a new one you have to clearly understand its structure, roles and responsibilities split. It will give you the understanding of who is responsible for what. The boss should also be consistent. If you promise something you should always fulfil your promise.

Give people the right to make mistakes. To err is human. So, don’t judge the people too strictly. Don’t thread people with dismissal for tiny mistakes. All of us make mistakes, so be tolerant and treat your employees with understanding.

Support initiatives. If your employees have bright ideas, always support them. It will motivate them to work better and to generate more and more ideas. You may also organize special team meetings during which the members of the team will share their ideas how to make their work conditions more comfortable and improve their performance.

Everyone can become a perfect boss. The only thing needed for that is a desire to be such and the readiness to do something for that. So, work on your personality, love your team and they will love and respect you as well.
