Free Online Event “Cyberbullying & Serious Gaming: Best Practices & Solutions”

The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development is delighted to organise the free online event “Cyberbullying & Serious Gaming: Best Practices & Solutions“, on Tuesday 29 September 2020 at 16:00. The event takes place in the framework of the European project “ACBC: Address Cyberbullying By Creating a Conscious Online Community”, which is funded under the Erasmus+ programme and its partnership comprises of organisations from Portugal, Romania, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Greece.  ACBC aims at actively involving young people in the major issue of cyber behavior today, to tackle cyberbullying. In order to do so, the project will develop the following three intellectual outputs: 

  1. Blueprinon ‘How to establish Regional Partnerships on Online Media Awareness’ 
  1. Serious Game, an interactive platform with movie clips and animation engaging young people (age group between 13-18 years) to recognise, understand and prevent cyberbullying and think about their and others online presence and its impact.  
  1. The User Guide will describe the Serious Game and its rationale in depth and providing guidance on the best possible use of all online and offline materials from a wide audience.   

The project will thus promote an understanding of cyberbullying and immoral cyberbullying, its consequences and implications for the victim and everyone involve in the case, the importance of confidentiality and the protection of personal data, and the development of young people’s media skills regarding and social media networking. It will also enable employees and teachers to tackle cyberbullying in a modern, interactive and effective way. 

Cyberbullying today!

Cyberbullying is unfortunately rapidly developing into a new form of violence, with serious educational and psychosocial consequences for the victim but also for the perpetrator, requiring and immediate and coordinated. The ACBC project and the online event organised by the Institute for Entrepreneurship Development correspond to this need in order to fight the emerging phenomenon of cyberbullying. 

During the online event, initiatives and programmes related to cyberbullying elimination, which have been implemented for students aged 13 to 18, will be discussed and analysed, and the Serious Game, developed under the project’s second Intellectual Output, will be presented. The Serious Game will be available soon, free for students, teachers and parents, available to download in the App Store as well as in the Google Store on mobiles or tablets.

  • local and regional governments, regional development agencies, regional/national education agencies/authorities, schools, 
  • social organisations, 
  • research institutes, 
  • cyberbullying specialists, 
  • psychologists, 
  • sports clubs, 
  • parent boards, parent associations, 
  • businesses who offer products/services to young people 

Availability is limited, so priority will be given to the earliest registrations. The event will be held in Greek.
