Rebuilding the Lives in the Land of Hope

“LAND OF HOPE – Rebuilding the lives in the land of hope” is an Erasmus+ co-funding European project, which focuses on the social integration of migrants and refugees especially coming from Middle Eastern, Asia and Africa. The participants’ organizations/countries involved in Land of Hope project are:

  • Tuzla Halk Egitimi Merkezi from Turkey
  • Agenzia per lo Sviluppo Empolese Valdelsa Spa (ASEV) from Italy
  • T.C Tuzla Kaymakamligi from Turkey
  • Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED) from Greece
  • Comude di Magenta from Italy
  • Integration for Alla (IFALL) from Sweden
  • Terra Vera Association from Slovenia
  • ACTIVITA from Poland

At the beginning of the project, a need analysis report was conducted by each country, which defined the target group and gathered the updated situation and information about refugees/migrants in each of those countries.

Based on the analysis report, the first output of the LAND OF HOPE project was developed, which was a course to enhance the knowledge of the refugees in local language and communication. When the training course was finalized after several iterations, we implemented a training activity in order to incorporate more creative language teaching methods. The course was translated in every partners’ language.

You can download the online book of the course for free here: https://ied.eu/language-communication-module/

In addition, a big conference on integration of the refugees was organized in Turkey on May.

Next steps: The second output of the project is to develop a digital literacy course for the refugees. It is expected to improve refugees’ basic digital skills including digital literacy courses so that people can use computer technology in their everyday life, to develop new social and economic opportunities for themselves, families and their communities. The second outputof the LAND OF HOPE project is expected to be ready at the end of November, and it’s planned to implement a training activity based on the course on January, aiming to teach the participants how to work with free educational and easy-access software in order to develop basic techniques based on the project’s modules.

When it comes to the second output (digital literacy course), a big conference in Italy will be organized which will focus on the necessity of learning the basic digital skills.

The aim of the two outputs is securing social integration, employment and financial independence of the target groups.
