Institution of Entrepreneurship Development (iED) announces the European project’s EMwoSE final steps of materialization. The initials EMwoSE, stands for Empowering Women from Ethnic Minorities through Social Enterprise.
Brief Introduction to EMwoSE
It is an Erasmus+ project that promotes gender equality, and economic integration of women from ethnic minorities, through social enterprise. EMwoSE’s partners have identified the challenges that ethnic minority women must cope with; and, with the use of a multi-disciplinary and comparative approach, via transnational collaborative projects, they carried out actions in the field. The overall design of the project consists of responses towards needs, such as:
- The development of innovative and adapted methodologies for trainers, social workers and relevant parties in order to transfer entrepreneurship skills to women from ethnic minorities. By taking into consideration the cultural context and the potential problems arisen in it.
- And, the provision of access to online open educational resources for ethnic minority women, trainers, social workers, and business advisors.

Presenting EMwoSE Final Steps
One of the steps made to empower women from ethnic minorities through social enterprise, was literature review and the creation of a report. This report revolves around topics, such as: social entrepreneurship; the skills needed to enter; female empowerment; potential obstacles ethnic minority women face; possible support strategies and policies, among others.
In addition, there was a creation of a YouTube channel, that consists of 35 videos of women, from ethnic background, who succeeded as social entrepreneurs. In these videos, the interviewees share their experiences and how they managed to overcome challenges that came their way.
Finally, educational material was gathered into an online platform, as a source that contains information, regarding the reinforcement of entrepreneurial skills. The platform is accessible to everyone.
