An event titled “Employment of Vulnerable Social Groups & Social Economy” was organized by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development with the support of the Association of Thessalian Enterprises and Industries (STHEV) at the Hall of the Municipal Council of Elasona on the 19th of March 2015. The event falls within the framework of project “Women’s Social Entrepreneurship: A path to equality”, implemented by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development.
The event was opened by the deputy mayor of Elasona, who proceeded to describe the current situation in Elasona with respect to entrepreneurship.
The representative of the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development Mr Theodoros Alexandrou described the progress of project “Women’s Social Entrepreneurship” and what has been achieved so far. Immediately after, Ms Elena Kamateri, represenative of the Association of Thessalian Enterprises and Industries presented the Development Consortium “Synergasia”, which aims at the support of socially vulnerable individuals from the Regional Unit of Larissa. More specifically, the project focuses on the creation of employment opportunities and the social integration of unemployed individuals, in relation to the development potential of the region.
The Women’s Cooperative of Livadi presented its course and the challenges it faces in its operation and the Cooperative of Shepherds of Livadi emphasized its export orientation and the emphasis it gives to the development of innovative products.
Finally, the Regional Director of the Manpower Employment Organization Ms Olga Tsiourva referred to the current employment situation in the region and the employment policies implemented for vulnerable social groups.
The project “Women’s Social Entrepreneurship: A path to equality” is implemented by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development within the framework of action 3.2.4 “Support of NGOs (women’s organizations” ( 1st and 2nd Round) of the Operational Program “Administrative Reform 2007-2013”. The “Special Service for the Coordination, Administration and Implementation of Co-financed Actions of the Ministry of Interior” is the main beneficiary.
