Helping refugees develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills

The percentage of refugees arriving in our country has significantly increased in the last two years. Most of them, hold degrees and have an educational background in Entrepreneurship. However, because of wars, they had to leave their homeland.

The European Program “Young Migrant Entrepreneurs (YOU-ME)” that belongs in the framework of the project Growth, aims at developing and strengthening the existing knowledge of refugees on entrepreneurship. The Institute for Entrepreneurship Development and its partners from Italy, Spain, Sweden and Germany have made the first steps towards achieving this goal at the 1st transnational meeting that took place in Madrid, Spain.

During the meeting, goals and responsibilities were set in order to achieve the best and most successful implementation of the project. Also, they discussed the framework in which the tools will be developed, something that is really important since it will play a key role in the communication and the transmission of knowledge.

A good paradigm of such tools, that will be used by immigrants, is a guide map of businesses and organizations providing a variety of services on refugee issues. Through this process, migrants are given the opportunity to develop their computer and internet skills.

This tool, as all the other tools, it will be available on our website soon, for free.

The target group is a challenge for the project partners but with the right strategy and the right guidelines, the goal can be reached and also, come of a positive impact.
