Institute of Entrepreneurship and Development has established a new, very important collaboration with a network of 22 partners from Europe, Africa and Asia concerning the development of new innovative business models in rural and remote regions based on open innovation. The partners aim to add value to local production and boost employment in small rural businesses. The living labs will be disseminated in 22 countries, methodology and tools for cooperation and joint product development will be developed. Part of this network is one largest research center in the world, Massachusetts Institute of Technology along with the Dubai Investment Group. In the kick off meeting, that was held in Berlin, the partners considered the next steps to be followed and the possible timetable of actions and pilots per country.
