Preparing the Future Ambassadors of Intercultural Dialogue

Preparing the Future Ambassadors of Intercultural Dialogue

The ambassadors of intercultural dialogue curriculum is the second output that emerged from the productive partnership of “TOGETHER: Towards a cultural understanding of the other“, in which iED is part of.

The Ambassadors of Intercultural Dialogue Programme

With intercultural dialogue we refer to interactions, where cultural diversity is valued, as a creative way to live and develop. TOGETHER embraces this notion and acknowledges its contribution to the sustainable development of EU. In particular, the Erasmus+ project promotes the application of intercultural dialogue in local and national contexts.

It is with this intention that the TOGETHER partnership developed the ambassadors of intercultural dialogue curriculum. This educational programme is aiming at representatives of local contexts, to raise awareness for the understanding of the “other”. The curriculum will motivate and empower representatives into becoming intercultural dialogue ambassadors. Consequently, the ambassadors will channel the knowledge and experience through their public and embedding intercultural dialogue processes, in their communities’ cultural agendas.

The ambassadors curriculum resulted from the collaboration of TOGETHER partners, which lasted from February 2021 to July 2021. It is an attractive training package, with ICT-enabled educational material and new pedagogical approaches.

Furthermore, the programme emphasizes on:

  • The potentials of cross-cultural understanding for sustainable development.
  • Stimulating interest for the universal values of EU cultural heritage.
  • And, finally, the necessity of intercultural competences in the modern, globalized. and pluralistic society of the 21st century.
