RWSFF ΙΟ4 has been finalized, in the framework of the European project “RWSFF: Rural Women to Sustainable Food and Farming – Fresh Food from Farm to Table”, offering an online course for trainers to educate rural women about sustainable agricultural entrepreneurship.
As a matter of fact, achieving transition to sustainable agriculture contributes to social, economic and environmental aspects. Through deploying the potential of emerging technologies, research and innovation, and knowledge sharing.
The content of RWSFF IO4
RWSFF is a project that focus on the promotion of women empowerment and sustainable farming, through the promotion of agricultural entrepreneurship trends. In addition, the consortium embeds SDGs for sustainability purposes. Erasmus+ programme has been supporting the RWSFF mission.
In this context, the partnership developed RWSFF training of trainers course (IO4), to provide engaging and experiential learning sessions in relation to sustainable food and farming. Furthermore, the RWSFF training course was created to meet the needs of diverse group rural women. Specifically, the produced result integrates project outcomes and learning by doing.
The RWSFF ΙΟ4 consists of the following 4 training modules:
- Module 1 discusses the topics of fresh food economy and covers subjects pertinent to: agriculture and rural development; modern agriculture trends; local food economy and access to fresh foods; and fresh produce from local growers.
- Module 2 covers the topic of rural women empowerment. It covers subjects, such as: women in agribusiness; the principles of gender mainstreaming; networking and leadership skills; and rural women’s leadership and mentoring program.
- Module 3 discusses the entrepreneurial spirit, with the subjects of: How to start and manage a microenterprise; best practices in promoting innovative entrepreneurship; marketing strategies for small businesses in rural areas; and branding and marketing agricultural produce.
- Finally, module 4 is about project management and digital skills and covers the themes of agricultural projects implementation; support systems in Europe; the 4.0 food economy; and, improving ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) skills, for online shop management and administration.
Although the project focuses on rural women, the impact of sustainable agriculture is expected to expand and benefit rural populations in the long run.
