EU flag

The 5th transnational meeting for the Certification of disadvantaged women in remote areas” (CEDIWORES) project was materialized in Finland on July 11-12, 2013. The project is implemented in the context of the LDV Programme – Transfer of Innovation.

The main subject theme of the meetings revolved around the process of certification of women that are at a disadvantage and which are in remote areas. The process of certification will primarily take place electronically, through an e-platform – Moodle.

The certification aims to evaluation the educational and professional background of the candidate, paying special attention to the qualifications and skills acquired through informal processes of education or through professional experience. The certification will be implemented in 8 levels Α1 Α2 Β1 Β2 Β3 C1 C2 C3 (A1 being the highest). The 8 levels refer to the European Qualifications Framework and relate to the knowledge, skills and competences that each candidate has.

In general terms, the process of certification makes use of seven tools of evaluation:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Qualifications test
  • Philosophy statement
  • Evaluation of other supporting documents/reports
  • Entrepreneurship knowledge test
  • Case Study
  • Presentation of Case study

The basic target group of the project is composed of women in remote areas that have fewer opportunities for professional inclusion. The project will provide them with the opportunity to develop and recognize their skills and competences in the field of entrepreneurship and will further facilitate their entry into the labour market through the institutionalization of European standards of certification.

A next important step for the project will be the process of attraction of members of the target group and the actual implementation of the pilot application of certification in all participating countries of the project.

Dr AnastasiosVasiliadis attended the meeting on behalf of the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, while representatives from Poland, Italy, Finland and Spain were also present.

The project is co-funded with the support of the European Commission and is materialized in the context of the Leonardo da Vinci Project, Transfer of Innovation of the European “Lifelong Learning Programme”.
