EU Entrance New Toolkit: An Entrepreneurial Practical Guide

iED is excited about its participation in the preparation of the EU Entrance new toolkit. This is the second output of the “Entrance: Enhancing the Entrepreneurial mindset of non-business Academics in Europe” materialization.

An Introduction to the EU Entrance New Toolkit

Despite the entrepreneurial prospects of technical, scientific, and art studies, it appears that such tertiary education isn’t accompanied with entrepreneurial mindset. This is a fact deriving from academics’ lack of pertinent experience and inadequate pedagogical approaches that could cultivate entrepreneurial mentality.

The Erasmus+ project Entrance, is aiming to contribute to the professional development of academics and students, according to the labor markets’ demands. Under these circumstances, the strategic partnership is developing an online ICT-based toolkit that can guide academics and students from an idea to a final business plan.

In particular, the EU Entrance new toolkit comprises the following components:

  • A blank canvas for users to input their ideas.
  • A checklist that will help users assess and modify their ideas, through a set of questions.
  • An interactive business plan canvas, in accordance with the 5 lean start-up principles, to help users to gain a better understanding of their idea, strategy, goals, limitations and potential.

In addition, the ICT-based toolkit focuses on providing first-hand practical experience, an approach aiming to reinforce participants’ process. The toolkit structure will include independent modules; therefore, there will be no obligatory sequence needed.

Entrance toolkit will be available online to guarantee transferability of the results and secure sustainability.

Institute of Entrepreneurship Development contributes to the IO2 creation, with the development of the business model journey. In short, the journey corresponds to the way the toolkit interacts with the MOOC platform.
