Fight the Fright Project: The 3rd Transnational Meeting

Fight the Fright Project: 3rd Transnational Meeting

Fight the Fright project partners met for the 3rd time in Lisbon between June 1-2, 2022, hosted by Storytellme. They evaluated progress and discussed the project’s future steps.

Fight the Fright is an Erasmus+ Project that wants to help adults improve their public speaking skills, especially in a foreign language, through the arts disciplines like drama and storytelling.

Let’s find out more about what was discussed during the meeting.

The agenda of the 3rd Fight the Fright project meeting

This meeting was important for the project’s successful continuation. We came together with our partners and had a better overview of where the project stands and what more needs to be done.

What has been done so far

During all this time, Fight the Fright consortium worked hard to develop its first result, “the curriculum for developing public speaking in a foreign language using drama techniques,” which is almost finished together with the short videos accompanying it. What remains to be done is to begin with the training’s pilot phase aiming at 75 participants.

This course involves a trainer’s guide, detailed descriptions of exercises and video tutorials. It will follow a blended learning approach with both face-to-face and online training. The ideal participants to this training program are adults who have fear of public speaking and are at a disadvantage at work.

What is in the works

We will soon start working on developing the project’s next product, which will be “a guide for adult education professionals on using drama techniques in teaching and learning”. This will be really useful to trainers of the “curriculum” as it makes their teaching easier and better.

Finally, we discussed the development of the platform to host the pilot program, which will be free and accessible since it will be translated into all partners’ languages. We also reviewed all available interactive tools we could use in the pilot training for best results.

Finally, we discussed more in detail about the project’s dissemination so far and had a closer look at the upcoming deadlines.

This meeting was critical as it allowed us to meet with our partners, discuss in-depth, exchange views and strengthen our partnership.
