Education, innovation, and research are crucial development dimensions for the EU; and, lifelong learning is a highly prioritized concept for achievement sustainable and inclusive growth.
On May 30th and 31st, project partners participated in the “Lifelong guidance: the link between lifelong learning and career guidance” online event. Project representatives had the opportunity to present the lifelong learning platform produced in the frame of “GrowINg: SME’s Growth and Innovation through Learning at the Workplace”.
Brief description of GrowINg project
The Erasmus+ project GrowINg aims to promote employees’ growth in workplace contexts by deploying adult education potentials. Specifically, the consortium focuses its activities on the HR policies of SMEs and on the entrepreneurial skills of employees. Throughout the 2 days of the event, participants explored this type of learning and its contribution to the future of Europe.
The agenda of the 1st day
The title of the first day was “The European agenda and decision-making processes in education and training” and encompassed the following points:
In “the fair of good practices” education and training stakeholders had the opportunity to present their work.
Participants were introduced to decision-making of EU pertinent to education and training in the European education area.
Furthermore, an expert panel discussed the EU agenda of education and training. In particular, the discussion encompassed the practices of cooperation between policy makers, along with education stakeholders and civil society.
The day continued with the materialization of labs pertinent to civil society cooperation at EU level. In addition, attendants were informed about the EU agenda in education and training; and, the role of policymakers, education stakeholders and civil society.
Moreover, at this phase, the following break-out sessions occurred:
- The entitlements of this learning types: the right to education and training.
- Recovery: competences for the Twin Transitions (green and digital).
- Learning mobility: making mobility a reality for all.
- Education and training for health and wellbeing.
- Lifelong guidance: the link between this learning and career guidance.
The event continued with a discussion about forward-thinking and action points. The discussion structure was the following:
- Building the EU agenda in education and training through stakeholder cooperation.
- Presentation from the break-out rooms.
- Wrap-up and takeaways.
The first day concluded with a talk titled “From Europe to Nice”.
The agenda of the 2nd day
The theme of the second day was “Achieving the French lifelong learning agenda” and covered the following topics:
The day began with a welcome talk about feasibility study on strategies of this learning type.
The event continued with an experts panel on the French agenda in education and training, along with the role of education stakeholders and civil society. Moreover, members shared national cooperation good practices about:
- The entitlements of this learning style: the right to education and training
- Recovery: competences for the Twin Transitions.
- Learning mobility: making mobility a reality for all.
- Lifelong guidance: the link between lifelong learning and career guidance.
- Recognition and validation of learners’ commitments in the social, volunteering and professional sectors.
Furthermore, the talk went on with forward-thinking and action points with focus on why, how, and what. Specifically, the talk covered:
- The French agenda implementation in education and training through stakeholder cooperation.
- Break-out rooms’ presentation.
- Wrap-up and takeaways.
The event wrapped up with the second day ending with talks from various speakers.
