Social and cultural integration of refugees and migrants through learning activities

The intensive phenomenon of migration of the past years in our country has affected the structure of Greek society, the labor market and the social perception. The participation of the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development in the European ERASMUS+ project “LAND OF HOPE – Rebuilding the lives in the Land of Hope” aims at the social, cultural and economic integration of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers within each local community through a succession of high quality educational-learning opportunities.

The kick off meeting of the project took place in Magenta, Italy between 7 and 8 December.

In the municipality of Magenta was held a press conference to promote and disseminate locally and internally the project. The Mayor Mr. Marco Invernizzi greeted the partners stating that the project is a very good example for the region pointing out its importance. The representatives of the project meeting visited the “Reception Centre” in Magenta and the “Integration Centre” in Milano in order to get information about the reception and adaptation procedures of asylum seekers.

During the two-day meeting, the partners from Italy, Turkey, Greece, Poland, Slovenia and Sweden had the opportunity to discuss about the methods and the strategies for developing and implementing the action plan. The next step will be the development of a training module over the lingual and communicational skills for migrants and refugees.
