Social integration of refugees/migrants and design of Give Boxes with local people

Within the framework of European project “Sharing is Caring Refugees”, Institute of Entrepreneurship Development and partners from France, Spain and Slovenia tried to make the inclusion of refugees/migrants more effective. Since then, a training activity in Marseille of France between refugees/migrants and local people has been organized and implemented.

Specifically, 15 refugees and 13 local people took part in the training activity. All the participants were accommodated in the same place, in order to get to know each other. They had the opportunity to meet different people, from different countries, with different cultures and ideas. Through the daily training activities, like the design of Give Boxes, each participant acquired knowledge and developed skills in writing, reading, painting and creativity. The participants also developed extra communication skills sharing their stories and getting familiar with people with different backgrounds. The main results of this training activity were to create bonds between locals and refugees, and to create awareness and feelings of compassion.
