A global vision for VET in 2020 indicates that by 2020 the VET systems should be more attractive, relevant, career-oriented, innovative and providing high quality initial VET (I-VET) which learners, parents and society at large may regard as an appealing option, of the same value as general education.

Currently, Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) is a promising but still largely unexplored subject of action, research and policy, and its concept is largely unknown, to most people, professionals and decision makers. The ability of IVET systems to anticipate future skill needs and competence gaps calls for the inclusion of new frameworks of ideas, new paradigms and alternative models. At the same time contents regarding the SSE are mostly inexistent in IVET curricula in most European countries.

The project “IVET Modules – Social and Solidarity Economy in Europe: affirming a new paradigm through IVET curricula innovation” is focused on including Social and Solidarity Economy in the education of new generations of learners. This new socio-economic model will work for them as relevant tool to address labor market challenges. Within this framework, Learning, Teaching and Training Activities will be developed in a strategic vision shared by all and for all.

During the 1st transnational meeting that took place in Rome, Italy, 30 November 2016, project’s partners from Portugal, Italy, Greece, Germany, Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Luxembourg analyzed the current situation and designed the next steps towards the implementation of the project’s activities.
