Success stories of young green entrepreneurs

The society has to cultivate environmental consciousness, otherwise, the mankind will kill the planet. The majority of the countries of the world are worried about their companies to be ecologically friendly and to reduce the harm they do to the planet. Many international enterprises have even included these criteria into their strategy of development.

Green entrepreneurship is the concept that implies the respect of the environment and the desire of being environmentally friendly which should be reflected in every decision and in every action. This concept works well, so here are the examples of success stories for your inspiration.

Refurbished products

In 1995, Arcencial founded Boutique Sociale in Lebanon, which was aimed at refurbishing the clothes in order to further sell them at low prices. The stores accepted the clothes and shoes as a donation, repaired them, have them a new life and sold at very low prices. In such a way the company managed to reduce waste and gave the possibility for the people in need to buy clothes at affordable prices.

Eco-friendly waste collection

The research proves that the waste collection does much harm to the environment as it provokes the consumption of billions of liters of diesel fuel. In 2003, Bigbelly Solar was founded. The main target of the company was to decrease the waste during waste collection. They started to use a solar-powered system and cut the quantity of the trips for trash collection. As the result, the harmful emissions were decreased and now waste collection does less harm to the environment.

Know what you eat

Professor Dara O’Rourke has created a free app and a website, called GoodGuide, which shows the users which products are really good for the environment. The site provides the rating of the household products which can be found everywhere. The application scans the bar-code on the packaging and tells the consumer if all the ingredients of a given product meet the standards of safety and if they are eco-friendly.

For the eco-farmers

There are plenty of examples of the enterprises that produce eco-seeds, fertilizers, etc. One of the good examples is Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm which growth the worms for composting and sell them to the farmers who want to grow eco-vegetables and fruits. There are also companies that produce the compost themselves and sell it together with the bags of eco-friendly soil.

These are only few examples of successful green entrepreneurs. Hope they are inspirational and will motivate you to create your own green enterprise.
