The perfect tools for a startup

The creation of something new supposes the choice of the tools and methods which will help to reach your target. There is a similar situation with startups, in which the main question at the beginning is which tools will help to develop the project best of all. Nowadays, there are two notions – project and startup, which are considered to be quite different. The project is a list of non-repeating actions by means of which the target can be achieved. The startup can be characterized as the creation of a new business.

There are five main stages of the development of a startup: brainstorming, start, growth, expansion, transfer from the “pilot” project to the real segment of the business. The tools for each stage should be carefully chosen and should correspond to the needs and targets set.

P2M

Nowadays, the most popular tool of startup development is a Japanese project management standard called P2M. Its main principles are:

  • profiling of the mechanism of values creation. It encourages the development of the organization basing on innovations;
  • project development by means of innovation technologies in management;
  • manager’s competencies which are a symbol of the success of the startup;
  • holistic vision as a base for the optimization of the project.

“Economical” startup

There is another tool that helps to minimize the risks connected with the launch of a startup. It is called “economical’ startup. In this tool research dominates over detailed planning and consumers’ feedback over the intuition and interactive development over traditional general pre-projecting. Let’s study the main principals of this methodology. It is considered that it’s better to use the intuition and various hypothesis instead of thorough research and business plans preparation as they are good for nothing. These startuppers use the method of client development in order to check their “guess-work”. The interview the consumers and try to get their feedback on the features of the product, price, etc. the feedback received helps to create the product which will be in demand. After the product is created there is another wave of the interviews which helps to define the drawbacks and areas for improvement. This is an ideal approach to the launch of a new startup, as it helps to create the product which people need and creates favorable conditions for the necessary changes. This kind of startup is quite flexible and will be ready to respond to all the changes on the market.

So, when launching new startup choose the appropriate tools which will help to develop, promote and make it successful.
