“ZERO COERCION PROJECT WILL SUPPORT THE USE OF STRATEGIES ALTERNATIVE TO COERCION FOR HANDLING SCHIZOPHRENIA CRISIS IN DOMICILIARY ENVIRONMENTS”
ZERO COERCION is a European Project implemented within the ERASMUS+ Programme which is launched with the main objective of increasing the competences of Persons with Schizophrenia, Relatives, Caregivers and Mental Health Professional for handling Schizophrenia Crisis in domiciliary environments through the use of strategies alternative to coercion.
Implementation of strategies for handling schizophrenia crisis without coercion in domiciliary environments is still a challenge due to the lack of, among others:
- Awareness of rights and knowledge on alternatives
- Adapted methodologies for implementation in domiciliary environments
- Participation of Persons with Schizophrenia, supported by relatives, in the definition of their own customized crisis handling strategies
- Effective cooperation with Mental Health Professionals
ZERO COERCION is a European Project implemented within the ERASMUS+ Programme which is launched with the main of increasing the competences of Persons with Schizophrenia, Relatives, Caregivers and Mental Health Professional for handling Schizophrenia Crisis in domiciliary environments through the use of strategies alternative to coercion.
An innovative training methodology will be developed, as well as training materials adapted to each target group and an e-Training Platform for supporting the implementation of the training methodology. Pilot Validation Actions will be implemented involving more than 120 persons in Spain, Slovenia, Romania, Estonia, Greece and Lithuania.
ZERO COERCION will be implemented between November 2019 and October 2021 by a European Consortium, lead by “Fundación CV Santos Andrés, Santiago y Miguel, FSASM (Spain)” with the participation of other entities specialized in Mental Health like “Slovensko Zdruzenje za Dusevno Zdravje, SENT (Slovenia)”, “Psichikos Sveikatos Perspektyvos Viesoji Istaiga, PSP (Lithuania)”, “Fundatia Estuar (Romania)”,“EDRA Scamg Social Cooperative Activities for Minority Groups (Greece)”, “Estonian Wellbeing and Recovery College, EWRC (Estonia)” and the “Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, IED (Greece)” as entity specialized in the development of e-training solutions.
