User Experience Meets the Classroom: UX@School Dissemination Event in Larisa

Students testing UX design tools during the UX@School digital education event in Larisa

How can digital education become more inclusive, responsive, and effective for today’s students? This was the central focus of the national dissemination event for the European project UX@School, held in March 2025 at the 10th Secondary School of Larisa.

How UX Design Is Shaping Digital Education

Organised through direct outreach to schools in the region that had shown interest in the project, the event brought together 25 participants, including secondary school teachers, students, and the school director. The aim was to present the final results of the UX@School project—specifically, the UX Handbook and the UX Online Tracking System—and to demonstrate their potential to improve how digital tools are used in education.

The event was held fully face-to-face, which enabled meaningful interaction, particularly with students. A key highlight was the open discussion around how digital tools can support different learning styles. Students reflected on their daily use of technology and explored how thoughtful UX design can personalize and enhance the learning experience, whether they learn best through visuals, hands-on activities, or auditory input. By testing the UX Online Tracking System, they shared direct feedback on what helps or hinders their learning, highlighting the value of designing educational tools with the learner in mind.

Inclusive, Student-Centered Digital Education

The dissemination event in Larisa highlighted the need for user-centered digital education and demonstrated how involving both teachers and students in the UX process can lead to more effective, inclusive learning environments. It showed that digital tools are not just add-ons—they are essential components that, when well-designed, can adapt to diverse learning needs and enhance the educational journey.

About the UX@School Project

The UX@School, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, aims to enhance the quality and inclusiveness of digital education across Europe. It provides tools, training, and practical resources to help secondary school teachers apply User Experience (UX) principles in their classrooms. By focusing on the real needs and behaviors of learners, the project empowers educators to design and implement more engaging, accessible, and personalized digital learning environments.
