Nowadays, unemployment is one of the biggest challenges that youths face across Europe. One of the factors, which contributes in the increase of those rates is the mismatch the competences and knowledge that youth has and the requirements of the labor market. This is the reason why VET sector needs bigger support and innovation and Work Based Learning activities should be implemented by educational institutions across Europe.
In order to promote WBL in Europe and to provide VET institutions with more resources, the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development joined along with organizations from 5 different countries – Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Romania, the project “Work Based Learning – The entrance to professional future”.
The main objective of the project is the creation of a youth-centered empowering environment for enabling young people to undergo WBL mobility and to promote holistic approach for fostering youth employability by bridging non-formal, formal education and labor market sectors, contribute to the creation of long term multi-level cross-sectorial networking and cooperation.
One of the final results of the project is a Best Practices Report on VET and WBL sectors across Europe. The report was developed during the second transnational training of the project, held in Sofia, Bulgaria on February 2020. Representatives from all partner organizations had participated in the training and contributed in the development of the Report.
The project’s Best Practices Report is addressed to every person of any age that wants to know more about the VET sectors in different European countries and the reality of the Work Based Learning. It is composed of 6 different chapters – Definitions and examples of the VET sector and WBL; VET in each partner country; Common problems in the VET sector; Needs and solutions; Work Based Learning and Connection between VET and WBL.
