WinSTONE | 2ND Transnational Meeting

WinSTONE 2ND Transnational Meeting

The 2nd transnational meeting of the project WinSTONE-Opening gates for women in the stone sector was held online due to the pandemic COVID-19 rather than Croatia as it was originally planned. The partnership had the opportunity to meet again and discuss the project’s progress and future steps.

The discussions revolved around the project’s future activities and the creation of 3 Handbooks for opening gates of women in the stone sector.

  1. Handbook of equal gender in the stone sector
  2. Handbook of equal gender for the training of trainers in the stone sector
  3. Handbook of gender equality of promoters in the stone sector

All partners contributed and shared their thoughts regarding the design and content of the handbooks to clarify all aspects before developing the handbooks. The idea of the handbooks is to provide guidelines, information, data, statistics and best practices to strengthen the gender equality issue and present existed strategies and policies developed by the EU that are working towards this direction. Gender equality in the workplace and in general is an important moral matter that, even though much progress has been made in the past years, there is still a lot to consider and change to close this gender gap. Winstone project examines the situation from the perspective of gender equality, specifically in the stone sector, due to the prejudice and attitude towards women participating in positions considered more suitable for men.

Moreover, the project’s website was presented, and the first opinions were introduced regarding Open Educational Resource OER, the upcoming deliverable of the project. Each partner presented the dissemination activities carried out by their organisations, and the partners established all decisions and next tasks to achieve high-quality results and reach the project’s objectives.
