General Description

In a global market, the innovation in business models is mandatory for competitiveness success even more than product innovation. IED aims to utilize a multi-method approach to business models’ analysis utilizing both object-oriented analysis and system dynamics in order to assess supremacy, based on a circular bio-based economy concept.

Furthermore, the specific WP undertakes socio-economic analysis to identify, describe and benchmark different business models in terms of starting conditions, obstacles faced, enabling factors, financing mechanisms, generation of added value, jobs and other potential environmental and social benefits, gender issues, attractiveness to young workers, and the distribution of the value generated, exploring the concept of shared value.

Overall, the objective is to increase the potential for rural economic diversification, increase the resilience to climate and global changes, improve the delivery of ecosystem services through innovative form of valorization, necessity for business competitiveness and resilience, innovativeness, sustainability, smart farming, food security and efficient resource management.
