Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (iED), an award-winning Greek non-profit organization, certified Center of Excellence in European Entrepreneurship and a fast-growing Digital Innovation Hub, and IEK AKMI, a vocational education and training (VET) leader in Greece and member of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB), are proud to announce an educational partnership that will significantly benefit VET students in Thessaly.
The direct connection of iED with IEK AKMI paves the road for multilevel synergies between a vibrant and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem and the learning world. Most importantly, students from various backgrounds and studies will be able to network with businesses that are looking for their next talent to join their team. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to work on actual projects from the workplace.
The world is currently going through a transformation phase without leaving the world of work untouched. The digital transformation, together with the transition to a greener and more sustainable future, have altered the job landscape. On the one hand, new jobs are constantly on the rise, but on the other, it renders certain occupations obsolete. Coupled with the fact that businesses already report an inability to find the right people to fill positions in their companies, educational synergies like this are more crucial than ever.
The collaboration between iED and IEK AKMI will allow businesses to access a significant talent pool to support their ever-changing needs. At the same time, the fact that students will have the ability to choose between more companies to work for and gain practical knowledge from will immensely increase their employability. Finally, the close collaboration of the world of work and education providers is vital. This is the only way to keep curricula updated with the demands of the modern workplace, and students can be sure that their skills are relevant and practical at work.
