The Innovent Forum 2024, held at the JOIST Innovation Park on February 9 and 10, is the biggest hybrid Science & Technology event in Greece. For the second consecutive year, its organization was a meeting point for organizations, universities, startup companies and entrepreneurs.
The Interactive Workshop
During Innovent Forum, iED was pleased to participate in and co-organize the launch event, an interactive workshop entitled “EU Grant Networking Workshop Building Consortia for Success”. Dedicated to responding to the requirements of European calls, the workshop encouraged fruitful discussions. Moreover, it cultivated networking opportunities for participants. Participants gained knowledge about EU funding and formed consortia to secure the success of their submissions. The workshop was a huge success, with many stakeholders actively participating in the discussion and gaining insight into impactful opportunities.
The Innovation Hackathon
Furthermore, iED was a proud supporter of the Innovation Hackathon. The Hackathon was organized by the Innovation Unit – Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Centre of the University of Thessaly and the Region of Thessaly. The open call of the Innovation Hackathon was addressed to youth and adult professionals, encouraging them to develop ideas. Equally important, these ideas focused on the thematic “Technology as a Tool for Managing the Impacts of Climate Change: Prevention, Response, Recovery”.
iED’s Chief Operating Officer, Thodoris Alexandrou, presented the event and ensured its smooth coordination. In addition, the COO of the EDIH Health Hub, Maria Pournari, the Planning and Development Director, Alexandra Kyritsaka, the Marketing Director, Paraskevi Zygoura, the Head of Project Management and Writing Unit, Stella Ioannou, as well as our Scientific Coordinator, Anna Koronioti, actively engaged in mentoring the teams, offering valuable guidance and support.
With the qualified for the final phase teams, four of them managed to achieve their goal and win a prize. First, the “Bimo” team won the biggest prize of €2,000.
