Still experiencing the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the European Union is making an effort to take up this challenge. Confirming its role as the main EU instrument supporting education, training, youth, and sports, Erasmus+ is ready to provide opportunities for personal, professional as well as socio-educational development for all European citizens and beyond.
At the moment, the COVID-19 pandemic has limited the ways people perform the most basic tasks every day. Simple things such as coming in contact with one another now require preparation and limits. As a result access to some of society’s most basic needs like education is not more difficult than ever.
Measures are essential, of course, seeing as it is the Commission’s priority to ensure the swift recovery of all European countries. The aim is to achieve that by promoting equal opportunities among people of all backgrounds.
Under this premise, in 2020 the Erasmus+ programme will support:
- Partnerships for Digital Education Readiness in the field of school education and training, and higher education.
These projects will be aiming at equipping education and the training systems with the essential tools to face the challenges presented by the recent sudden shift ton online and distance learning. That will include supporting teachers to develop digital competences and safeguard the inclusive nature of learning opportunities.
- Partnerships for Creativity in the fields of youth, school education, and adult education.
These projects will reinforce cross-sectoral cooperation with a focus on creativity, European Citizenship, and cultural awareness. This action aims to enhance skills development and competences, social inclusion through arts, by fostering innovative participatory and intercultural dialogue approaches that will link education, training, and youth stakeholders with the cultural and creative sector grassroots organizations.
It is important to note that these actions will help Europe get one step ahead of the situation and potential problems that might occur in the future. Therefore the significance of these actions is recognized by most of Europe’s organizations.
IED as a reliable EU project partner with 15 years of experience in European projects is interested in participating in these actions. We bring our experience and expertise in the table, qualities that can set a project aside from others.
