FEMME “Fostering the Exchange of practices to Empower Mumpreneurship in Europe” project has started the last months of 2017 and in some days it will be over. Eight European partners worked committed together to serve the project objectives and aims to give a concrete and experimented answer for Mumpreneurs providing on one hand for trainers/educators the opportunity to exchange experiences, empower their skills and creating tools for efficient training with their European peers, and on the other hand providing women-mothers with the opportunity to participate in best practices showcases and networking activities, increase their contacts, expand their business and get in touch with other ideas on a peer-to-peer basis.

During the project’s duration 4 outputs have implemented.

State of the Art of Mumpreneurship

A report on the State of the art on Mumpreneurship was conducted during the project. The report focuses on barriers and success factors in women entrepreneurship. In particular, the state of the art mumpreneurship includes the following topics:

  • research, positioning and hypotheses                                              
  • europe framework, general statistics                                  
  • women-work-life
  • population and economic activity, gender statistics                                    
  • employment, age, salary data
  • female entrepreneurship, mumpreneurship
  • enterpreneurship and women                                                                                   
  • legal framework, gender policies

Good Practices on Mumpreneurship in Europe

Best practice research was performed with the aim to achieve two objectives during the project. First of all to give trainers/staff members the opportunity to understand what the most relevant successful business are developed by mothers. The second objective was to find how did they reach their success and how can trainers/staff members contribute for Mumpreneurship.

Guide for Mupreneurs

This guide that was developed during the project, provides practical advice and recommendations on the topic of mothers in entrepreneurship. It helps them to get familiar with the terminology: ”mumpreneur/mumpreneurship”, it suggests the basic tools a mother can use in her efforts to become an entrepreneur and it guides them on the road of needs and obstacles they have to face in running a business. Finally, the guide offers practical information on the main activities that take place in an enterprise, it makes mumpreneurs aware of some aspects that could limit their entrepreneurial opportunities as well as it underlines the complex economic, social and cultural aspects that influence a business run.
