iED Develops a European Career Management Skills Framework

Career guidance is an essential component of modern education and training systems to (re-)orientate younger and older generations towards the acquisition of 21st century skills. Lifelong guidance has been receiving increasing attention at both European and national levels. Two Resolutions of the Education Council (in 2004 and 2008) have highlighted the need for strong guidance services throughout the lifespan to equip citizens with the skills to manage their learning and careers and the transitions between and within education/training and work.

The project LEADER – Learning and Decision making resources” aims at providing career guidance practitioners and teachers with useful tools to implement Career Management Skills, even with a coherent and consistent use of modern ICT. It aims at improving quality in the learning and guidance processes, developing key skills of practitioners and teachers and experimenting innovative tools and methodologies with the use of new technologies.

During the 3rd transnational project’s meeting, this took place in Barcelona between 11 and 15th of April 2016, partners finalized the European Career Management Skills framework and coordinated the pilot actions that will take place in each participating country for testing the framework.

In Greece there will be two pilot actions:

First one will be organized with the cooperation of Athens University of Business and Economics in Athens and the second one will be organized with the cooperation of University of Thessaly in Larissa.
