IED’s work on Social Inclusion

social-inclusion2

The European area is full of problems that are being dealt with on the daily. There are a plethora of different actions taken to minimize the negative impact and produce solutions to completely eliminate the problems. However, some problems appear to be a lot more difficult to deal with than others.

One of those problems is the lack of social inclusion when it comes to various vulnerable groups such as migrants, people with disabilities and in general groups that face discrimination for any given reason.

Unfortunately, although social inclusion is the core of the European Social Model and European values enshrined in the Lisbon Treaty, the EU  is not any closer at making progress towards achieving the ‘’Europe 2020’’ policy, which was adopted in 2010 and aims at the elimination of the social inclusion problem.

iED and vulnerable groups

Social inclusion is at the heart of iED’s commitment, to build a strong, social Europe. The economic recovery and growth, we are slowly starting to witness across Europe, need to reach everybody, including the most disadvantaged of our citizens. Although the EU is far from reaching this goal, in IED we are proud to have taken part in EU projects that promote social inclusion and connect it with entrepreneurship. Vulnerable groups such as refugees, immigrants and people with disabilities are supported through activities that integrate them into society.

iED and gender equality

In 2017 the European Commission launched various initiatives to advance gender equality. The EC adopted the 2017-2019 Action Plan to tackle the gender pay gap, declared 2017 the Year of Focused Actions to End Violence against Women and held the Annual Fundamental Rights Colloquium on the topic ‘Women’s Rights in Turbulent Times’. In that direction, IED is an active project partner and develops activities in EU funded programmes.

Here at IED we value every person no matter where they come from or where they are headed. We strongly believe in the European policies to fight discrimination and we will continue to implement more and more project to achieve better results and cause a bigger impact for the European society.

We have a lot to offer to any consortium. Our expertise and our excellent results on social inclusion matters and certainly a way to prove that our impact is substantial and will continue to be.
