“Inventory on current cooperation structures between WBL professionals”

WBL

WBL in formal VET is a broad concept with different interpretations in different countries and different stages of development. At the same time, as work-based learning is becoming more and more prominent in VET in Europe, more emphasis is given on the cooperation and continuous dialogue between different learning venues. However, the stated cooperation is differently organized and highly dependent on the existing tradition of each country on WBL. For instance, cooperation between VET institutions and companies is required by law in Germany and Austria, while in Spain and Greece is required by sectoral or institutional arrangements and is defined on a case-by-case basis in Italy.

For this reason, the “Deep IN WBL” Erasmus+ project was advanced by exploiting all the aforementioned data. This project is dedicated to some of the existing challenges in the context of Work-Based Learning. Institute of Entrepreneurship Development representing Greece, in conjunction with partners, form Austria, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey released the “Inventory on current cooperation structures between the different professionals involved in WBL”

This report contains each of the participating countries’ approaches aiming at the creation and development of collaborative environments to ensure cooperation. By addressing the citizens of each country, each national analysis tended to answer three main questions: Which are the main issues that cooperation focusses on? How cooperation is organized in practice? (mechanisms) and Which conditions enable cooperation for WBL?

The inventory aims at giving a summarized overview of the cooperation’s structures in each country with a section devoted to each participant country regarding WBL. Each national section also includes the challenges and positive achievements regarding cooperation structures that could be recommended to other contexts and constitute the basis on which lessons learned will be formulated at a later stage of the project.

Finally, a brief comparative analysis indicates the main differences and similarities in the situation between the partner-participating countries.
