Social Entrepreneurship for Immigrant People

SENTIM project “SENTIM – Social ENTrepreneurship for IΜmigrants” represents the opportunity for development of better and proper models, adjusted to the immigrants’ needs that can be incorporated into our private and public institutions.

So far, four organizations from Spain, Italy, Slovenia and Greece implemented the following activities:

  • Development of a complete methodology to train in competencies for entrepreneurship
  • Development of a methodology to support the entrepreneurship process of the immigrants
  • Design and implementation of an E-learning module for the identification of the interest for entrepreneurship and for the evaluation of the necessary competences. The platform is available free in this site (http://athena.entre.gr/en/). The user, by providing only some basic information about him/her, gain instantly access to the material.

Within the framework of the project, the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (iED) participated at the final conference of the project that took place on Monday 02/10/2017, at the city of Burgos, Spain.

The main objective was to present the results of the Sentim project, on social entrepreneurship for immigrants, developed in the frame of Erasmus+. In addition, other aims were to stimulate critical reflection, create collaborative dialogue networks around the social economy as an option for the social/labor integration of immigrant people and, ultimately, work on to search for options to promote the development of social economy projects, especially addressed to immigrants.

Approximately 50-60 people participated to the event coming from different groups: professionals and volunteers from social organizations, (especially those working with immigrants), students of the University of Burgos, immigrants and other people interested in entrepreneurship.
