WELLy – Analysis of the State of the Art on Work Wellbeing

The Analysis of the State of the Art on Work Wellbeing is the first intellectual output of WELLy project partnership. The objective of this analysis was to identify the current status of work well-being in businesses. Specifically, it analyzed the applied managing tools and rules set to manage and guarantee the organization’s well-being.

Furthermore, this analysis determined businesses’ current needs on work well-being to prepare a tailor-made modular training curriculum. This training program will address the development of management and psychological skills for work well-being management.

Methodology Used

Firstly, the Analysis of the State of the Art on Work Wellbeing was developed through literature review and company case studies. In this part of the research, the focus was on work well-being management in the EU and USA.

Secondly, partners enriched the analysis with empirical data that they gathered from businesses. For this part of the research, the partnership used online questionnaires and received 318 responses from employees regarding their workplace well-being.

Regarding Greece, the participating companies were TEDRA ATE, Nakas Telecommunications Sole Shareholder Co. Ltd, Bizios S.A, LAS RAMBLAS breakfast and coffee brewers, Xalatsis Vas. & SIA O.E. In particular, the number of Greek respondents was 31, coming from the five companies mentioned above.   

A Few Words about WELLy Project

To begin with, WELLy is a European Funded Erasmus+ project whose aim is to determine the work environment’s physical and psychosocial impact on employees’ well-being.

Through research, the partnership wants to determine the current state of employee well-being across Europe and the policies in place. Furthermore, the main goal of WELLy is to train Well-being Managers (WWM) that will ensure the improvement of employees’ work conditions. Finally, the project wants to adopt a proactive approach and highlight managers’ importance in resolving employees’ issues.
